University of Illinois Urbana Champaign/University of Michigan Ann Arbor for undergraduate computer science?
I am a computer science student transferring from a community college this fall’08, have been accepted by Purdue, U Virginia, U of michigan and U illinois for computer science program. I know Illinois seems to have a better comp sci program (only a level below MIT, Stanford, Berkeley and Carnegie Mellon) but they only ranked 38th in the nation, while michigan whose comp sci dept not as good as Illinois ranked higher(25th). Can somebody give me an advice where I should go to?
Hey, I live in Illinois, go to U of I, they have a great reputation for everything. Their computer science programs are better than U of Virginia, and u of Michigan and all those other schools . Its tied at 38 with wisconsin and UCSD, but U of I is really ranked 36th in the nation( 6th best public school in the U.S) So go to U of I you will love it my brother goes there. and no other public school besides U of michigan is only a level under Stanford and MIT.
